On the 19th of July 2010, An-Najah received a team of professors and researchers in the field of Mathematics from the University of Grenoble in France who came to participate in a workshop on the modern trends and fields of Mathematics. Attendees included Dr. Sulaiman Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science at An-Najah, Dr. Mohammad Abu Eideh, Head of the Mathematics Department as well as Dr. Mohammad Omran, Coordinator of the Higher Studies Program at the Department.
Dr. Khalil pointed out that this workshop, which will continue for a month, will work on reinforcing academic exchange and exchange of experience in the field of Mathematics between An-Najah and the different French universities. Through this workshop, An-Najah students will be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience that French professors have. It will help them become familiarized with the latest developments in the field of Mathematics and the new scientific approaches that are used to conduct researches in this field.

It is important for local students to come in contact with international experts and professionals in this field which would enable them to participate in international events in the future and expand their knowledge. This event marks a mutual benefit in which internationals become familiar with the developments that An-Najah University has achieved over the years, especially in the field of science and at the same time provide Palestinian students with more experience and sharpen their skills. The workshop will cover a number of topics that are related to Mathematics, physics and computer science.
Through the workshop, Palestinian students will be familiarized with Grenoble University, thus encouraging them to pursue their higher studies in universities outside Palestine and return back to their country equipped with experience and skills.
