Abstract
Objective: CBC is a multi-parameter simple automated test where every parameter is considered a specific test and has its medical value in medical diagnosis process. These main parameters include WBC, RBC, and their indices (MCV, MCH and MCHC), Plts counts in addition to Hgb, HCT, and RDW are included in this study.
Hemogram is frequently ordered for any person seeking medical help, and most of other hematologic tests are referred in their planning to the information derived from the hemogram indicators (Besarab and Soman, 2005).
This study will evaluate the harmony and agreement between medical laboratories in Nablus City in releasing CBC results, and to some extinct to assess the precision in these laboratories.
Goals: It is expected of our study to reflect the situation of harmony of the results, consensus and accuracy in CBC results in Nablus laboratories. It will also evaluate the performance of medical laboratories in the routine hematological parameters of WBCs, RBCs and Plts counts and the red cell indices which include the MCV, MCH and MCHC. Also, the Hgb, Hct and RDW will be assessed to see if the consensus, accuracy and precision of the results currently achieved in our laboratories meet the medically useful criteria for analytical performance in medical laboratories. The evaluation of the quality control in the hematology laboratory in West Bank is essential since there is no national quality control program running in the medical laboratories at present.
