This course covers mathematical development as science. It includes early numeral systems such as Babylonians, Egyptians and Greek; the three problems of antiquities: duplicating a cube, quad rating of a circle and trisecting an angle; Alexandria 1st and 2nd schools, Hindu and Arab mathematics; European mathematics before and after the 17th century; analytic geometry and related concepts; development before calculus and transition to the 20th century.
