An-Najah University participated in the International Conference for Young Chemists (ICYC) which was organized at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan on April 8th under the sponsorship of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the European Young Chemists' Network (EYCN).
An-Najah was represented by Dr. Ahed Zyoud who delivered a lecture about the activities and research work in the field of nanotechnology which he conducts at the University in cooperation with Professor Hikmat Hilal and others in the field of water purification and solar energy cells. The audience were impressed by the advanced level An-Najah was able to achieve in nanotechnology.
Mu’men Jaradat, a Master student at An-Najah who is supervised by Professor Hilal and Dr. Zyoud, participated with a scientific poster that showed the results of his research in the field of solar energy cells development. Waseem Mansour, a Master student at An-Najah who is supervised by Professor Hilal, Dr. Zyoud and Dr. Waheed Al-Jundi also participated with a scientific poster that illustrated the preparation of nanometer particles from the zeolitic material and stimulate it using stimulating materials to finish some important chemical reactions. The poster was listed among the best three posters that were selected from among more than 100 scientific posters that were presented for the Master and PhD students from all over the world. Waseem Mansour received the Conference’s Shield.
